SHAUN TORRENTE is one of the most dynamic and committed drivers on the tour and in 2018 fulfilled his lifelong ambition to win the world title, retaining it the following year. He finished runner-up in the title race in 2016 and 2013 and has taken third overall twice. After three terms with Qatar he joined the Victory Team at the Grand Prix of France in 2015, moving to Team Abu Dhabi at the end of 2017.
He made a somewhat inauspicious first appearance in the championship in 2007, starting his first full season in 2011 joining Team Qatar. From 52 starts he has won nine times with 14 podium finishes, qualifying in pole position nine times.
His racing career began in the USA when he was 15, going on to be a SST-120 (F2) world champion twice in 2002 and 2003, then moving up and winning the North American F1 Championship three times.
