ALEX CARELLA is a naturally gifted talent and a three-time world champion in only seven years of racing on the tour. Coming from F2 where he had some success but never a world title, he joined the championship in 2010 with Mad Croc and won his first Grand Prix in only his third start in Linyi, China.
In 2011 he joined the Qatar Team and out-duelled his teammate to the first of his three-straight world championships in 2011. Prior to last season he never finished lower than third (2010) and in 2014 and 2015 finished runner-up in the title race, guiding Abu Dhabi to the Team Championship in 2015. His strike rate is impressive, winning 12 Grand Prix from 45 starts, picking up a further 14 podiums and 12 pole positions.
He started his career in 2000 in the Italian T-400 class where he finished fourth. He moved on to F1000 in 2002 winning the Italian title in 2003 and the European crown in 2004. He took his first world title in 2009 when he won the F1000 championship.
