SZYMURA WINS F4 RACE
F1H2O
Saturday, 1 August, PORTO (Portugal): Mike Szymura gave Portugal's F1 Atlantic Team the perfect start to the weekend, winning the first race of the year of the F4 Championship in Porto.
The 21-year-old defending Champion from Berlin jumped pole sitter Rashed Al Qamzy and Christian Cesati to gain the upper hand immediately and was never challenged over the 20 laps, going on to take his seventh race win by 17.34s.
Team Abu Dhabi's Al Qamzi took the chequered flag in second place but was given a post-race one lap penalty for a jump start dropping him down to seventh place, the penalty elevating Team EMIC's Joakim Halvorsen to second with Italy's Cesati coming home on his debut for Motorglass F1 Team in third.
