DOHA, Qatar - March 10, 2012 - The second race in the Qatar F4S competition produced a few surprises. The first was when Jesper Forss of Team Sweden leapt away from the dock to lead Team Atlantic's Matt Palfreyman to the first turn.
The Swede had raised his engine a little on the transom which gave more speed however it also made his little Molgaard more flighty. As Forss took a wide sweep around the buoy, Palfreyman kept close and soon forged a lead with Forss in close contention ahead of China's Ziwei Xiong.
Sadly for the Chinese driver, his moment of glory was short-lived as he barrel-rolled on lap 2 and Team Nautica's Tobias Munthe-Kaas inherited 3rd place. Around lap 12, Forss hooked on the far turn but still kept going but not before Munthe-Kaas had overtaken.
It was then a hard slog for Team Sweden, who battled away to get past Team Nautica into 2nd place but was too late to catch Palfreyman. Singha's Valts Silis improved on yesterday's result to finish in 4th place ahead of Rashid Al Qamzi in Team Abu Dhabi, Mad Croc Kornel Vo and Khalid Al Kuwari.
