DOHA, Qatar - March 10, 2012 - In one of the most exciting races we have seen for some time, Abu Dhabi's Ahmed Al Hameli drove a superb race to secure maximum points for his team.

The Abu Dhabi pilot led from pole position but behind him four drivers were locked in a very close tussle with Mad Croc Sami Selio coming back from his horrendous accident in China last year to secure 3rd place behind Philippe Chiappe who swept past Qatar's Shaun Torrent and Selioon the final lap after a yellow flag situation prior to the chequered flag.

Torrente and reigning world champion Alex Carella both started at the back of the field after replacing powerheads but were soon bowling along in the top six. However the brave move by Chiappe was the highlight of a very exciting race.

The debut of the two 4 stroke Caudwell boats was a 'none event as Ivan Brigada lost his clutch before the start and Brett Stuart's gearbox failed after six laps. The fast Doha Bay course took its toll on engines eight of the nineteen starters broke down while Team Atlantic's Duarte Benavente was disqualified for taking out two buoys.
