BACK-TO-BACK AUGUST DATES FOR AQUABIKE AND F1H2O RACES IN INDONESIA
F1H2O

Tuesday, March 18: Indonesian, Aquabike Promotion and H2O Racing officials have confirmed that this year’s rounds of the UIM-ABP Aquabike Circuit Pro/Endurance and UIM F1H2O World Championships in Indonesia have switched to August and will take place on August 13th-17th and 22nd-24th, respectively.

Last year, Lake Toba, the world’s largest volcanic lake, hosted the opening round of the F1H2O series in early March and the final round of the Aquabike series in November.

Speaking after the dates were confirmed, Raimondo di San Germano, CEO of H2O Racing and Aquabike Promotion, said: “It makes perfect sense in logistical terms to tie in the two races with many of the staff and officials working at both events. This is something we did successfully in the past and it worked amazingly well.

Besides, weather conditions in Sumatra in August are much more stable and that will be more favourable for us when we arrange the final race itineraries. This will also give spectators and fans the opportunity to have a holiday in the region and take in racing in two disciplines over as many weeks.”

Troy Warokka, Commercial Director of ITDC, representing InJourney as the local organizer of the event, added: “We are delighted to welcome racers, teams, and fans from around the world to Lake Toba for another exciting round of the F1H2O World Championship season. As one of Indonesia’s most iconic destinations, Lake Toba offers not just a race but also an unforgettable experience that blends natural beauty and local culture. With the addition of the UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship as a back-to-back event, fans can enjoy two consecutive weekends of thrilling motorsport action in one of the most stunning locations in the world.”

As was the case in 2024, the first three days of the aquabike event will see competitors competing in the UIM-ABP World Endurance Championship (August 13th-15th) before racers taking part in the Runabout GP1, Ski Division GP1, Ski Ladies GP1 and Freestyle events take centre stage on the lake on August 16th-17th.

The third Grand Prix of Lake Toba, Indonesia will then take place on August 22nd-24th. Drivers from 10 teams will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Strømøy Racing’s Bartek Marszalek and the Sharjah Team’s Rusty Wyatt, who won the first two races in 2023 and 2024.
