Monday, 22 August: Jonas Andersson is in no doubt that he belongs on the podium and that will be his target when he lines up for the UIM F1H2O Grand Prix of Harbin in China on 2-4 September.
The 42-year-old Team Sweden driver-owner from Frovi heads a tight trio separated by three points chasing the top three in the title race and is looking to make up for just missing out on podium finishes in Dubai and in Portimao, finishing fourth in both. “I was happy to finish the race last time out after our problems in France. But we should be on that podium. We have the pace to compete.” he said. “I made a mistake in qualifying, not the crew, so we were a little on the back foot [for the race] and again just missed out.”
A four-time Grand Prix winner, Andersson heads to China looking to end a seven race podium drought and ultimately looking for the next win that has eluded him for longer than he wants to remember. “We have the option to run the new boat in China but we haven’t tested yet so we will see which way we go after the first couple of sessions on the water.”
