PROFILE

SHAUN TORRENTE is one of the most dynamic and committed drivers on the tour and in 2018 fulfilled his lifelong ambition to win the world title, retaining it the following year. He finished runner-up in the title race in 2013 and 2016 and was third overall twice. After three terms with the Qatar Team from 2011 to 2014 he joined the Victory Team at the Grand Prix of France in 2015, moving to Team Abu Dhabi at the end of 2017. From 63 starts with the Qatar Team, he won nine times with 29 podium finishes, qualifying in pole position 10 times.

But Shaun’s real success has come with Team Abu Dhabi and the Miami racer has now claimed three world titles, adding a third success in 2022 after finishing third for the third time in 2021.

His racing career began in the USA when he was 15, going on to be a SST-120 (F2) world champion twice in 2002 and 2003, then moving up and winning the North American F1 Championship three times.
