ISTANBUL, TURKEY (12th AUGUST): U.I.M. F1 World Championship for powerboating Promoter Nicolo Di San Germano praised today the hard work and dedication put in by all the officials of the Grand Prix of Bulgaria including, Promoter Ivan Panchev and the Mayor of Plovdiv Ivan Chomakov, who worked so hard to prepare the event.

"We have a 3 year contract with the Bulgarian officials and we hope they will accord us to return next year to Bulgaria to make a weekend of F1 racing possible to our new fans and old alike," stated San Germano. "Bulgaria has proved to the world that they can host a world class event and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them for many years to come."

The 1st Annual Grand Prix of Bulgaria, the scheduled 8th Round of the U.I.M. F1 World Championship was officials cancelled last week after a drivers protest. Instead of an official race, 35 lap exhibition race was held for the thousands of people who attended.
