Friday, 2 October: Germany's Mike Szymura was gifted a second race win of the weekend to take overall victory in Liuzhou in race 2 of the F-4S Trophy after Rashed Al Qamzi's achilles heel struck again, the Abu Dhabi driver taking the chequered flag in first place but then given a one lap penalty for a jump start.
Al Qamzi was again the quickest on the time sheets in qualifying and again on pole, but as in a race in Portugal he went too early and paid the price despite leading Szymura for all 22 laps.
In a somewhat processional race there was little or no movement in positions until lap 10 when third-placed Ferdinand Zandbergen slowed and dropped several places, Mohamed Al Mehairbi , Wu Bingchen, Briney Rigby and Joakim Halvorsen all moving up.
Then into the latter stages off the race on lap 17 Motorglass driver Christian Cesati over cooked it and turned over, bringing out the yellow flag, the chequered flag then hoisted on lap 22, Szymura classified first ahead of Al Mehairbi and taking second overall. Wu Bingchen finished in third, with Briney Rigby taking third overall with fourth place.
Maximum points for the second event in a row moves Szymura 36 points clear in the championship from Halvorsen with Wu Bingchen in third.
