F1H2O

SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, December 15, 2011 - Yesterday's pre-race press conference, the talk was all about Jay Price and Alex Carella and whichever won the race will be crowned 2011 World Champion.

True one or other of them will be crowned champ but let's not assume either will win the Grand Prix of Sharjah. Let's not forget a certain Mr Al Hameli, possibly the quickest driver in the pack on his day and Norway's Marit Stromoy is not just a pretty face after her electrifying form in Abu Dhabi until her crankshaft broke.

Third place Thani Al Qamzi is a serious contender for victory and China's adopted Frenchman Philippe Chiappe has several podium places this term. Even the tail-enders could have an effect on the result if they get in the way of the front-runners.

One thing is certain, the race fans lining the superb Khaled Lagoon race circuit have an exciting race in prospect on Friday and we will know around 5.00 pm who is the new world champion and another thing is certain, he will be a Team Qatar driver.
