ABU DHABI - Tuesday, December 11, 2012 - After ten months of racing the UIM F1 H2O World Championship Series had its season ending "Gala Dinner" that was highlighted by its Fourth Annual Hall-Of-Fame inductee ceremony with driver and boat builder Cees Van der Velden and racing promoter David Parkinson becoming the seventh and eighth members elected into the coveted Hall.
Hundreds of people from over 20 countries on the racing tour as well as key personnel with the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority enjoyed the two hour awards ceremony. The entertainment was wrapped around an elaborate staged show, a fast paced video Highlighting the 2012 season and a 15 minute fireworks presentation. A superb specially prepared dinner cooked in the evening outdoor setting twenty minutes outside the city of Sharjah in the desert topped off the seasons final activity.
SCTDA Chairman Mohamed Al Noman along with H2O Racing President Nicolo di San Germano spoke while the Awards for the Top Three finishers in F1 H2O Drivers Championship, Team Championship along with the F4S class Top Three were honored.
The Hall-Of-Fame inductees were the final awards of the evening with both David Parkinson and the late Cees Van der Velden daughters Margareth and Claudia taking to the stage presenting their acceptance speech's.
