Friday, 13 March, DOHA (Qatar): Qualifying for tomorrow afternoon's Grand Prix of Qatar scheduled to take place at 15:45hrs [local] has been postponed due to poor conditions and will now take place on Saturday morning, the scheduled one hour session replaced with a one hour free practice.

The decision to postpone because of continued gusting winds and difficult conditions out on Doha Bay was taken by Race Director Luis Ribeiro, OOD Sami Abu Shaikha and driver's representative Sami Selio, the safety of the drivers the key factor. "We saw from practice earlier in the day that the conditions were very difficult and it makes no sense to risk injury to a driver or damage to boats at this stage of the season. Safety is always the determining factor," said Luis Ribeiro.
