F1H2O

SHENZHEN, China – Wednesday, October 14, 2009 – As the U.I.M. F1 H2O World Championship focuses in on the start of the second half of their 2009 campaign this weekend in Shenzhen, China on the 17th and 18th of October, many race teams including the home standing China CTIC effort will be preparing a two prong attack , racing to win and racing to entertain their growing list of sponsors while entertaining clients with their multitude of sponsors on board.

Swedish driver Pierre Lundin, who is coming off a successful pair of third and fourth place showings in the past two Grand Prix last weekend in Liuzhou, along with his teammate Fabian Kalsow of Germany, who continues to score top-10 results, makes for a promising weekend of excitement for the multitude of VIP guests associated with a long list of sponsors that support the two boat effort throughout the season and who will be participating in their sponsors back yard in Shenzhen this weekend.

“We are excited about being associated with some great people,” said Team Manager Eric Chan. “First of all our main partner is China Merchant Bank, which is fourth largest in China and number one in customer satisfaction. Added to this is MDS one of the largest audio manufacturers for amplifiers and speakers for your automobile and boat, plus Li Ning sports attire is with us along with a dedicated ten year effort for television giant CCTV-5 who has a ten year commitment to our cause and new sponsor China Southern Airlines.”

An interesting sidebar is that Li Ning was the first Chinese athlete to win Olympic medals in three different categories including gold. His success came in the 1984 Olympic games in Los Angeles winning in gymnastics.
China Southern Airlines flies both domestically within China and internationally throughout Asia, Europe and Los Angeles in North America through it's hub in Guangzhou.

Not all sponsors on the CTIC Team are local however with the strong partnership with ex-F1 racing star Philippe Dessertenne who brings his native French affiliation with the team. Conseil General de la Charente-Maritime, Port de La Rochelle and Motul are also part of this giant team effort in making it one of the top race organizations on the F1 tour.

Pierre Lundin is currently ninth in the championship table with 35 points while 28 year-old driver Fabian Kalsow is tied for 14th with 10 points gaining six in the last two starts as he prepares for his 19 career race this Saturday.

The world of F1 racing is a complex mix of sponsors and racing that is enjoyed by drivers from four different continents who bring their own flavor and sponsors to each Grand Prix and the China CTIC Team is just one example of how this all flows into a workable relationship between racing sponsor partners with winning performances on and off the water.
