Sweden's Jesper Forss had to finish in 4th place or higher to make sure of the 2012 F4 championship and he duly obliged with a hard earned 2nd place behind Britain's Team Atlantic pilot Matthew Palfreyman. For much of the race Forss was chasing Team Qatar's Khalid Al Kuwari but the constant pressure soon saw the red Molgaard hull of Forss overhaul Al Kuwari to secure 15 points and the gold medal with Palfreyman 5 points behind.
Qatar hung on to secure 3rd place ahead of Mad Croc's Viktor Vo while Team Abu Dhabi late replacement driver Rashed Al Romaithi filled 5th spot.
The almost uncontrolable Singha hull driven by Jan-Andre Landnes managed to claim 6th place despite spinning out ahead of China's 'new kid on the block' Wu Bingchem. Team Nautic's Tobias Munthe-Kaas retired after spinning on a turn buoy.
Palfreyman and Forss were the only two pilots to complete the full 28 laps while Bingchem covered 25 laps.
