LIUZHOU, China – Sunday, October 2, 2011 – It might be billed as the best race of 2011 when Sweden's Bimba Sjoholm hunted down and swept aside her male rivals to make it two consecutive wins in the F4S GP of China.
After her customary slow start, Sjoholm found herself in 3rd place after three laps behind Team Atlantic's British driver Matt Palfreyman and Qatari pilot Khaled Al Shamlan.
However the young lady from Sweden began her hunt for the leading duo and after 8 laps had overhauled Al Shamlan. It was then a case of chasing Palfreyman and lap after lap Sjoholm started to close the gap at times almost reaching his transom. With 5 minutes to the chequered flag she chose the right route to the turn buoy pushing Palfreyman to the outside.
After that it was all downhill for Bimba as she drew out a healthly lead at the flag. The two leading boats are from the Molgaard workshops and appear a lot quicker than the rest. Mad Croc's Filip Roms flipped over yesterday but filled 4th place today ahead of China's Xiong Ziwei and Team Nautica's Carl-Hampus Lunderg.
How long will it be before Bimba Sjoholm steps up to F1 as she certainly showed her true colours today.
