KIEV, Ukraine - 21st of July, 2012 - In a surprising announcement late yesterday afternoon Jay Price, the 2008 UIM F1 H2O World Champion and winner of 11 Grand Prix's in 52 race starts is returning to the sport by announcing that he will drive for the Skydive Dubai Racing Team beginning with the final two rounds of the championship in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in early December of 2012.
The American driver had been the two time runner-up in the drivers title the last two seasons taking the championship fight all the way to the final round in each campaign in search of this second title. He resigned from the Qatar Team on the last day of 2011 and was thought to be retired.
"I am really excited about coming back with my new team and the Skydive Dubai people have given me a great opportunity to be competitive right from the start," said the driver New Orleans, Louisiana. "I'm now in the process of putting together a great team of people whom I can trust and will at the same time make us competitive right from the start."
The multi-time champion in F2 in Mexico and Cuba who started racing back in the mid-1980's in the U.S.A. will come back with great racing numbers including 11 victories, 5 pole positions and 25 podiums in his 52 official race starts. He had finished either first or second in the championship in three of the four last years and had finished on the podium 21 of the past 25 races he's completed.
With Jay's return to the series he will mark the third driver in the field who is a past World Champion.
