Erik Stark has been crowned the winner of the inaugural Brinx Cup, awarded for the best overtake of the 2024 F1H2O season. The prestigious accolade was decided by a vote among the team managers, who had to choose between two spectacular overtakes that made it to the final selection.
The first contender was Rusty Wyatt of Sharjah Team, who executed an incredible move during his debut race in Indonesia. In dramatic fashion on the final lap, Wyatt powered down the straight to overtake both the defending world champion Jonas Andersson of Team Vietnam and Erik Stark in a thrilling finish.
The second contender was Erik Stark’s masterful overtaking maneuver against Jonas Andersson in Shanghai. Under extremely challenging conditions of wind and rough water, Stark showcased his skill and determination to execute an unforgettable move.
While Wyatt’s overtake secured him a historic win, the team managers favored Stark’s display of technical prowess and bravery, voting 7-2 in his favor.
The Victory Team driver, who will race under the Abu Dhabi colors next season, becomes the first-ever recipient of the Brinx Cup in F1H2O history.
