FERDINAND ZANDBERGEN started out in F1H2O in Portugal in 2021 and finished fifth in the Drivers’ Championship in his full debut season in 2022, the highlight being pole position and a race victory at the FIM Grand Prix of Italy in San Nazarro.
In 2023, as a member of the Sharjah Team alongside Sami Seliö, he finished fourth in the Drivers’ Championship with 39 points, finished second in France and third in China and Sardinia. He finished 13th in last year’s championship, the highlights being third in his Olbia Sprint race and fifth in Zhengzhou.
He now has 18 Grand Prix starts and four career podiums and remains with Sami Seliö in the new Red Devil SMC-F1 Team for the 2025 season.
Born in Wageningen in the Netherlands, Zandbergen had been introduced to the H2O Racing family through the popular F4-S Trophy that used to run in conjunction with rounds of the F1H2O series. Zandbergen finished as runner-up in 2016.
Away from the on-water action, the Dutchman is a successful businessman and works for the family business, Ferdinand Zandbergen B.V., that is involved in the production of meat and the distribution of poultry for the food industry.
