THANI AL QAMZI is a veteran of the tour with 121 race starts since his first event in Sharjah in 2000. He has won seven Grand prix with a total of 30 career-podiums his first coming in 2003 finishing second in Germany. He enjoyed his best season in 2009 when he finished runner-up in the World Championship to his now team boss Guido Cappellini when he scored 143 points, with a victory in Portimao, Portugal, and six podiums during the campaign.
