YELLOW FLAGS RULE - GRAND PRIX OF UKRAINE
F1H2O

KIEV, Ukraine - 22nd of July - After yesterday's non-event that because of rough sea conditions and poor visibility, today's event was started behind the pace boat It appears despite the first attempt to run the race  never started and five laps were completed under the yellow, it seems the thoughts were, we carry on where we left off.

Sami Selio on pole position leapt into the lead when the green flag was raised and he was chased by Qatar's duo of Shaun Torrente and Alex Carella. After two laps, Team China's Stan Kurtsenovskyi flipped over the yellow flag was out again. When green appeared Torrente swept into the lead and looked invincable as he held a 8 second lead over Selio and Carella.

Six laps before the end, the yellow flag appeared again when Ivan Brigada's Caudwell stopped and  this 'yellow' intervention had a dramatic effect of the outcome of the race. Torrente who had the race in the bag lost power and stopped.  Selio grabbed the lead and from 4th to 2nd came Ahmed Al Hameli while Carella ended the day in 3rd place.

Marit Stromoy who was running in mid-order got the shock of her life when her windscreen smashed. A small video camera that was fitted to the top of her cockpit, came adrift and shattered the toughened screen.

There is little doubt, Torrente who joined Qatar this year has the speed and ability to win the world title but equipment failure in his last two races has robbed him of maximum points.
