Friday, 14 November, DOHA (Qatar): Team F1 GC Atlantic's Mike Szymura extended his overall lead in the F-4S Trophy after taking his third win of the season in race 1 in Doha.
The 21-year-old from Berlin topped the time sheets in practice and qualifying and then capped the perfect day leading the field of eight from pole position to complete a start-to-finish victory and win by 17.34 seconds.
Norwegian Jan Andre Landsnes improved on P3 in qualifying and kept the pressure on the race leader until lap 10 before losing ground, to take the chequered flag in second place for the Motorglass F1 Team.
Qatar's Khalid Al Kuwari clearly enjoyed his first outing in his new Molgaard to take his best result of the year finishing in third ahead of Team Sweden's Briney Rigby after a close scrap in the early stages of the race, Al Kuwari passing Rigby at the end of lap 1, the 16-year-old Australian regaining the place two laps later and valiantly holding off the Qatari driver until lap 9, Al Kuwari then charging and chasing down Landsnes, missing out on second spot by less than two seconds.
Al Kuwari's teammate Mohammed Al-Obaidly, also running a new Molgaard, cut a lonely figure running in fifth throughout the 20 laps to finish ahead of a distant Wu Bingchen, Ronny Mathys and Sigitas Mickus.
