LIUZHOU, China – October 15, 2010 – American driver Tim Seebold has returned to China this week ready to take on another challenge with a new Baba boat in hopes of continuing his fast track on learning the nuances of the UIM F1 H2O World Championship this weekend for the 15th Grand Prix of China in Liuzhou on the Liu River.
The 45 year-old driver from Osage Beach, Missouri has added his wife Debby as Team Manager for the new Skydive Dubai Racing Team based in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and is coming off a sixth place finish at the last race two weeks ago in Linyi, China, his first ever F1 event.
The Seebold name is not new to the tour, with father Bill, who was elected last year to the very exclusive F1 “Hall of Fame,” as well as older brother Michael, who has a victory and three podiums in
five official starts last competing in the 2002 season.
“We are really excited for this event for the Skydive Dubai Team,” said Tim. “We are for the second time in two races driving a new boat hull. It's hard to believe in my last three races in 2010 I've run my Seebold boat in America, then two week's ago a DAC and now the Baba. It's challenging but exciting at the same time, we'll see how we do when the weekend comes to an end here in Liuzhou.”
Tim is one of the most decorated drivers in American history with five national championships in the F1 class and four times the SST-140 series, a strong resume of winning since he started racing at 15 years old.
“Challenges are nothing new too me,” said Seebold. “I've been fighting uphill all my life and am ready to make a mark here in the next two weekends “movin and groovin” here in Southern China in the next two weeks.”
Tim Seebold will join 19 other drivers from 13 different countries at this weekends 15th Grand Prix of China in Liuzhou in front an expected crowd of over 50,000 race fans along the Liu River for the fourth round of the 2010 UIM F1 World Championship for powerboating.
