JAY PRICE HONOURED BY QMSF

Abu Dhabi, UAE - Tuesday, 20 March: Team Qatar's 2008 UIM F1H20 World Champion Jay Price was the star turn at a lavish gala dinner hosted by the Qatar Marine Sports Federation (QMSF) at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Doha, Qatar last weekend.

 

Price flew in from America for the occasion to be honoured by the QMSF and received his award from its president, HE Sheikh Hassan bin Jabor Al-Thani, in recognition of his outstanding services to the QMSF and Team Qatar.

 

Price won the 2008 UIM F1H20 World Championship with Team Qatar and served the QMSF for several seasons in F1 and F2000. He resigned from the team after finishing second overall to teammate Alex Carella at the end of the 2011 season.

 

He started in the UIM F1 H2O World Championship in 2002 after 21 years of competition in SST-140 and SST-120 (F2) in North America. He later quit racing in the USA and won Championships in Mexico and in Cuba before moving on to the World stage in the UIM F2 series and later the Presidents Cup Series in the Middle East. In 2006 he joined the F1 tour full-time with Team Qatar.

 

On the UIM F1H2O World Championship tour Jay's record is impressive:

6 years - 52 race starts - 37 finishes - 11 victories - 25 podiums - 29 top-five finishes
