ABU DHABI - Wednesday, 18 September, 2013 - Nicolò di San Germano has given a strong indication and is optimistic that H2O Racing can extend its sporting interests and activities in Brazil in the coming seasons.
The news follows his recent return visit to Brazil and the country's capital Brasillia following the resounding success of the first F1H2O Grand Prix of Brazil in June.
During his visit the H2O president, along with Beto Lorenzato, met with the Governor of Brasillia Agnelo Dos Santos Queiroz to reflect on and underline the success of the event and to discuss future plans to expand and develop activities.
The exceptional setting of Brasillia's Lake Paranoa proved a perfect location for the F1H2O Grand Prix and one that Nicolò di San Germano firmly believes is perfect for developing additional UIM sanctioned powerboating and watersports events. "The meeting was very positive. The country and in particular Brasillia has a wonderful sporting heritage and I congratulated the Governor on the successful negotiations to bring a round of Moto GP to the Capital in 2014," he said. "We discussed the many possibilities and opportunities available for all parties that would create added value for future events. I believe a variety of events would generate even greater interest. The venue is simply perfect for a multiple event water festival."
High on the agenda during the meeting was a discussion about the possibility to bring the UIM backed Formula Future series to Brasillia, which Nicolò di San Germano sees as an opportunity to expand interest amongst the younger generation and to develop up and coming young driver talent in Brazil, indicating that they would be looking to involve all the schools in Brasillia in the programme.
