Kyiv, Ukraine - July 27 - It was a difficult race to follow as the leaders were lapping backmarkers by the 5th lap of this 2350m circuit. Pole setter Sami Selio was setting a cracking pace chased by Philippe Chiappe of CTIC China and Qatar's Shaun Torrente.

There were gasps of dismay from Mad-Croc supporters when Selio slowed as he lost power although he was still in the leading pack. Francesco Cantando was holding 5th place ahead of Jonas Andersson of Team Azerbajan.

Team Abu Dhabi were struggling as Team Atlantics Youssef Al Rubayan was sandwiched between the two UAE pilots Thani Al Qamzi and Ahmed Al Hameli.

Only Chiappe, on his Moore hull, and runner up Torrente completed the full 38 laps with Carella, Selio, Cantando, Andersson and Al Qamzi on 37 while last place Osculati completed 32 circuits.
