LIUZHOU, China - October 2 - Today belonged to Chinese pilot Ziwei 'Leo' Xiong. Although the young driver from Shenzhen did not win the 2nd race in F4S championship, his 2nd place behind flying Swede Jesper Forss thrilled the thousands of Chinese spectators.
It also won him a beer, promised by 5 times World F1 champion Jonathan Jones if he made the top three. A prize should also go to 3rd place Tobias Munthe-Kaas who spun and nose-dived twice during the race but still claimed the bronze award.
It was a weekend to forget for Britain's Matt Palfreyman of Team Atlantic as after leading both races briefly, a fuel problem cost him vital power and he had to settle for 4th place in both races.
Team Abu Dhabi's Mohamed Al Mehairbi improved on his first heat performance by finishing 5th ahead of Mad Croc Viktor Vo while Qatar's Khalid Al Kuwari filled 7th place.
Norway's Jan-Andre Landsnes was occupying 5th place for much of the race in the flighty Singha boat but like yesterday he spun the boat and could not get up to speed again.
