F1H2O

BRASILIA (Brazil) - Saturday, 1 June - Team Azerbaijan's Nicklas Friberg led from start-to-finish to win race 1 in the F-4S Trophy in Brasilia, with debutant Mike Szimura, racing for F1 GC Atlantic, finishing in second ahead of Team Qatar's Khalid Al Kuwari.

The Swedish driver took full advantage of the absence from the start pontoon of Mad Croc's pole-sitter Kornell Vo from Hungary, who crashed out of qualifying after setting the fastest time and was unable to make the start, and was unchallenged throughout the 15-lap race to win by over 48seconds.

Germany's Szimura had to wait until lap 10 before finally finding a way past his Qatari rival Al Kuwari to move into and secure second place, Al Kuwari running out the race in third.

Further down the filed CTIC China's Bingchen Wu and Abu Dhabi's Mohamed Al Mehairbi battled it out, swapping places at the start of lap 9 after a minor coming together, with Al Mehairbi moving up into fourth, as Wu started to go backwards and finishing in sixth.

Norway's Erik Danielsen recovered well after being forced back to the pits on lap four after a piece of rope snagged around his prop, re-joining the race and making up lost ground  to pick up fifth place for Team Nautica.
