ABU DHABI - November 28th - The first racing action from the 2013 Abu Dhabi Water Festival featured the F4S cats and first blood went to Team Nautica's Alberto Comparato, son of former F1 pilot Fabio.
Alberto dominated the race from start to chequered flag however the excitement was unfolding behind the young Italian. Runner-up Team Atlantic's Mike Szimura looked comfortable for the first half of the 20 minute race but was being hunted down by Team Sweden's Nicklas Friberg in the closuing laps and only a fraction of a second separated them at the chequered flag. Qatar's Khalid Al Kuwari forced his way into third place briefly before Friberg r-etook that position while China's Wu Bingchen filled 4th place.
It was an abysmal afternoon for Abu Dhabi's Rashed Al Remeithi and Qatar's second boat driven by Mohamed Al Obaidly who were lapped by the first four and Jan Andre Landnes retired after ten laps in his unruly Singha outfit which was porpoising throughout.
