SHENZHEN, China – Sunday, October 24, 2010 – In an drama packed Shenzhen GP, Singha Beers Francesco Cantando inherited the lead 5 laps before the chequered flag when long time leader Ahmed Al Hameli retired. For the huge crowd watching the spectacle, it was a sweet race and CTIC China'd dynamic duo Philippe Chiappe and Pierre Lundin filled 2nd and 3rd.
The start grid was unusual as although Al Hameli was on pole, the following five places were occupied by unfamilier faces as 'top dogs' Price, Selio, Carrella and Al Qamzi were dropped down the grid as they had engine changes during qualifying. Team Azerbajain's 'Lady' pilot Marit Stromoy held 5th place for a large slice of the race until Al Qamzy and Tim Seebold forced their way past. Jay Price dropped out after 3 laps until a coming together with Al Qamzy's boat forced him out.
A great race that thrilled the crowd and a great result for China.
