SHARJAH, UAE - December 18 - Qatar's F-4S duo enjoyed mixed fortunes in the first of two races on the Khaled Lagoon. Khalid Al Kuwari celebrated his first F-4S victory of the season while team partner Mohammed Al Obaidly crashed out before a lap had been completed.

Although it mattered little that Al Obaidly had posted the fastest time during the morning's free practice, his barrel-roll brought the pace boat into action after half a lap.

Al Kuwari took up the lead after the pace boat left the course chased by Mike Szymura of Team Atlantic and F4's lone female pilot Briney Rigby of Team Sweden who filled the podium places. Szymura's runner-up spot ensured the German driver secured the 2014 F-4S championship with a race in hand.
